AGM and election 2019

By the end of the AGM this September, members will have elected a new Council and have voted on resolutions brought forward. This is your opportunity to be involved in this process.

The RPS is headed by our elected Council, who also act as the Board of Trustees, as the RPS is a registered charity. They set the overall policy and direction, working in partnership with RPS staff, and are supported by various committees. The role offers a fascinating and rewarding experience, helping to broaden interests and develop new skills.

This year the process will be online enabling a quicker, secure and confidential system and provides us with cost savings and increased responsivity. Full details of the election process will be posted online by 1st April 2019. Further information for resolutions and the AGM will follow in due course.

We will continue to remind and signpost in the Journal, eRPS and by direct email throughout the year.

We appreciate that some Members will prefer a paper-based approach. You can register this by calling our elections agent, Mi-Voice on 02380 763987, emailing, or by going to and completing the online form.

Our anticipated key milestones for the process are:

  • 29th April: Nominations period for Council positions opens. Candidates will need 10 supporters in order to be able to stand for election.
  • 30th June: Nominations period closes
  • 29th July: Voting for Council positions and resolutions brought forward opens.
  • 23rd September: Online and postal voting closes.
  • 28th September: AGM
