A chance to capture the South Downs at dawn under the guidance of a professional tutor.

The event will visit a nature reserve in the heart of the South Downs National Park, a stunning area of hills converging together between Lewes & Brighton.

We will start by capturing the sunrise from the Kingston Ridge before exploring around the Castle Hill Nature Reserve to capture light and compositions of the hills and paths winding through the valley.

Participants should bring plenty of morning snacks/breakfast and a packed lunch for a break at around 11am-12pm.

Please bring / wear:

  • Camera, Tripod and Filters
  • Walking Shoes
  • Windbreaker and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions
  • Torch for early morning.

Terrain is quite uneven, some uneven rocky footpaths to watch out for. There will be lots of walking, mostly on footpaths. Expect hiking of around 5-6 miles throughout the day.

The easiest toilets to use will be the nearest bushes, as the terrain is quite wild but for proper facilities, we will have short breaks when possible / necessary.

Parking is free.

This will be a category B/C event for up to six participants.
